After the huge success of their first video, Mogens and Morten demonstrate an Oracle database installation, again wearing a straitjacket:

For sure, there exist young database developers whose level of expertise is still very shallow. But, isn’t that how we all started? As you grow older and learn and try new things, you gain more experience and you become less and less clueless.
So, older developers have more experience than younger ones. But, younger developers tend to be more energetic and learn new things faster. This is of course a theory and a generalization as much as it is common sense. What do you think?
Now, do you mind If I ask you this question: (more…)

Filed in Oracle with Comments Off | Tags: funny, videoI am back home. I left San Francisco yesterday evening. I am very impressed with Oracle OpenWorld. It was the largest concentration of Oracle and Oracle related professionals ever. All of the sessions and keynotes I attended were very good and useful. It was also very nice meeting many fellow bloggers and Oracle gurus in person.
Here is a link to most of the blog posts and news about this year’s conference and also my last OOW short video:
Now, back to my pre-OOW activities…

I was lucky enough to win a ride on a Segway. Actually, I made a deal with the salesperson: I attend your 10 minute product demo, you let me “drive” the Segway:
Before heading to the appreciation dinner hosted by Oracle Magazine, I went to register for Oracle OpenWorld. The “full conference” registration lines were long but I managed to blend in with the “Alumni” registration line which was a lot shorter. Still, it took them quite a bit of time to find my registration record and issue “the badge”. During my wait for “the badge”, I managed to shoot this short clip:
After the registration I headed to the E&O trading Co, a few blocks away, to attend the Oracle magazine editors’ choice award winners appreciation dinner. It was fun and exciting to meet many of the Oracle Gurus in person. Here are a couple of pictures:
